Model Number: KL-PPH(93%min.)
Brand Name: kelongchem
Key Specifications/Special Features:
Chemical formula C9H12O2Molecular weight 152.19
CAS No.: 770-35-4
Synonym(s) 1-phenoxy-2-propanol Propylene phenoxetol
1-phenoxypropan-2-ol Propylene glycol phenyl ether
KL-PPH is slow-evaporating, very hydrophobic glycol ether ideal in coalescing and carrier solvent applications. It is more hydrophobic than would be expected based simply on its molecular weight. This product is an excellent match for phenolic coatings and linings; it is also an excellent coalescent for acrylic-based latexes.
It is also used extensively in dyeing applications, where it can function as both a dye solubilizer and as a dye carrier. KL-PPH has superior viscosity reduction properties in metalworking fluids. It has the benefits as follow:
1. Coalescing ability.
2. Powerful solvency.
3. High dilution ratio.
4. Low viscosity.
5. Storage stability.
Application
1.Latex coalescent in water-based architectural and industrial coatings.
2. Carrier solvent for textile dyes.
3. Paint removers.
4. Coalescent for latex adhesive.
5. Useful in the formulation of homogeneous, stable metalworking fluids.
Package & storage
200 kg plastic drum or 1000kg IBC tank.
Customized package available.
Stay away from sunlight and shelf-life is 1 year.
Dosage
It is recommended that the PPh is added before emulsion or when pigments are ground, so that it can easily couple with other substances in the formulation, and achieve better emulsifying and dispersing effect, while having no effects on the stability of pigments and more.
PPh is added 3.5-6% in purified acrylic ester photo-polymer emulsions, 2.5-4.5% in vinyl acetate-acrylic ester emulsions, 2-4% in styrene-acrylic ester copolymer emulsions.
